OpenShift Virtualization to run seamlessly with Dell Unity storage, designing and validating the configuration to ensure consistent performance and reliability across their landscape. What was considered “not supported” became fully operational.This OpenShift Virtualization–based solution now powers 300+ virtual machines across multiple regions in India, with unified management and monitoring ensuring smooth operations and zero downtime. Client Background and Challenges
The client is a nationwide health and social insurance authority managing hospitals, employee data, and public service applications. Reliability is essential for their operations — any interruption can affect service delivery at a national scale. To support growing demand, they required a modern, flexible, and centrally managed virtualization platform.The client wanted to move to a container-native virtualization environment but faced two major constraints:
- Their current storage platform was not officially supported on the new virtualization stack
- The organization handled 300+ workloads that could not afford downtime or service disruption
- Replacing storage would increase cost, complexity, and deployment timelines. A solution was needed that ensured stability, performance, and continuity without interrupting services.
